Exceptionally handsome miniature version of the original Shaker oval box.
This particular box was made and endowed with a lovely older Reuge Mechanism that plays "basic Gifts." They originally were produced with Swiss (Reuge) movements, as shown in image, playing the well-known Shaker hymn.
This box is clear cherry wood with solid copper tacks and a hand-rubbed oil finish. Stamped on bottom "Orleans Carpenters, Orleans Mass." The Shaker box is in superb condition. Measures 4.75" L x 3" W x 2" H.
