Crafted from very dense, thick heartwood, this box weighs in at 2lb 11oz, likely dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century, the golden era of tramp art.Finished with a rubbed wax coating, this one-of-a-kind find was discovered at a SW Florida flea market, within 100 miles of Key West, and just beyond that - the Dry Tortugas. It’s in good vintage condition with some expected imperfections, though the lid is secure and works perfectly. No loose parts! Some damage to the trim on one corner.
